The short version: Poopyfeed is built so that we never have your data. We don't collect it, we don't store it, and we don't share or sell it. Everything you log stays on your devices and in your own iCloud account, and it's end-to-end encrypted before it ever leaves your iPhone, so no one but you and the people you invite can read it. Not us, and not Apple.
- No servers. We don't run a backend or database. There's no Poopyfeed account.
- End-to-end encrypted sync. Entries and kid profiles are encrypted with keys only your family's devices hold.
- No sharing, ever. No ads, analytics, trackers, data brokers or third-party SDKs.
- You're in control. Delete any entry, any kid, or your whole account at any time.
This policy explains how the Poopyfeed iPhone app and widgets (the "App") handle information. The App is owned and operated by MJMX Holdings, LLC ("we", "us"). Questions? Email poopyfeed@proton.me.
Information you put in the App
You choose what to log. This can include:
- Kid profiles: name, birth date, an emoji avatar, and your tracking preferences.
- Care logs: feeds, pumping, diapers, sleep, baths, temperature, growth, medicines and supplements, solids, vaccines, illnesses, doctor visits, moods, milestones and notes.
- Your display name, so the people you share with can see who logged what.
Where it's stored: on your iPhone and in your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit, so it syncs between your devices. Apple stores this data under its own privacy policy. We have no access to your iCloud data.
Sign in with Apple
You sign in with Apple. Apple gives the App an anonymous user identifier and, if you choose to share them, your name and email (which may be a private relay address). These are kept in your iPhone's Keychain to show your name in the App. They are not sent to us.
Family Sharing
If you share a kid, Apple's iCloud sharing makes that kid's data available to the people you invite, and shows them participant names. You control who has access, and you can remove people at any time. If your subscription ends, invitees lose access. Data you share is stored in your iCloud account, not ours.
Voice and Siri
If you use voice logging, the App asks for microphone and speech-recognition permission. Speech is processed on your device, and audio isn't recorded or sent to us. Siri requests are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy terms.
Notifications
Feeding, nap and medicine reminders are scheduled on your device. iCloud may use silent push notifications to keep your family's devices in sync.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple tells the App only whether your subscription is active.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no ad or analytics SDKs.
- No tracking across other apps or websites.
- No selling, renting or sharing of personal information, with anyone.
- No storing your data on our own servers. We don't have any.
- No reading of Apple Health data into the App.
- No collection of your location, contacts or photos.
Children's privacy
The App is made for parents and caregivers, not for children to use. It stores information about children only because a parent or caregiver chooses to log it, and that information stays in the parent's iCloud account. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Keeping or deleting your data
Your data stays until you delete it. You can delete it at any time:
- Delete single entries or kids in the App.
- Delete account: Account โ Delete account permanently removes every kid you created from iCloud, including for anyone you shared with, and signs you out.
- Erase this phone: Account โ Erase everything on this phone removes the App's local copy.
- You can also manage iCloud data in iPhone Settings โ your name โ iCloud.
Encryption & security
- End-to-end encryption in iCloud. The contents of every entry, kid profile, timer and medicine are stored using CloudKit's encrypted fields. They're encrypted on your device with keys kept in your iCloud Keychain, so they can only be read on your devices and the devices of people you share with. We can't read them, and Apple can't either.
- Minimal technical metadata. To sync, iCloud needs a few technical details that aren't end-to-end encrypted, such as random record IDs and when a record last changed. These contain no names, notes or logged values.
- In transit. All syncing happens over encrypted connections.
- On your iPhone. Local data is protected by iOS Data Protection, which ties it to your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID.
- Keep your keys safe. Because only your devices hold the keys, we can't recover your data if you lose access to your iCloud account. Keep your Apple Account secure and set up a recovery method.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or California law), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your personal information. Because your data lives in your own iCloud, you can do all of this in the App. Email us if you need help.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If we ever change how the App handles data in a significant way, we'll tell you in the App first.
